FAQ

What is The AcuBar?

The AcuBar is a unique space where you can pick and choose from our all- natural healing modalities to enhance the health and appearance of your skin and hair, while diminishing the effects of stress and aging from the inside out.

The AcuBar combines Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Acupuncture, Photobiomodulation (PBM, LED Light Therapy), microneedling, natural herbal serums, and homeopathic remedies to harness the power of natural healing that exists within each one of us- all in one place, and built on the foundations of nature.

If you believe sometimes LESS is MORE and you are tired or afraid of using toxins, like paralytics and fillers, laser burns, chemical peels, or strong anti-acne medications to change your appearance then the AcuBar is what you have been looking for.

We make natural and holistic aesthetic treatments affordable for EVERYONE.

What if I've never tried TCM, acupuncture or light therapy?

Then this is the PERFECT space to experience the power of natural cosmetic and self-care healing for the first time, while exploring all the available powerful options we offer.

How do I choose what is best for me from all the holistic options?

When you come into The AcuBar you will have a consultation with one of our board certified and licensed staff. They will be able to explore your priorities, pair and mix and match, the services and any of our formulations that will best support your goals.

How long is an appointment?

Depending on your treatment of choice, you can plan to be in the AcuBar for a first visit for 60 minutes. Here are some approximate appointment times:

Light therapy only: 30 minutes

Micro/Nano needling and light therapy: 50 minutes

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture and light therapy: 60 minutes

Acne Acupuncture Treatment with light therapy: 60 minutes

TCM Facial with light therapy: 50 minutes

Acupuncture Focused self-care session: 40 minutes

Is Light Therapy included with all my services?

Light therapy is included with all of the following services:

    • Micro/Nano needling
    • Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture
    • Acne Acupuncture
    • TCM Facial

Light Therapy can also be A La Carte and added to your TCM Herbal Serum Mask Session and your Acupuncture-Focused self-care session.

What is Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture? (Includes Light Therapy)

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is the use of our hair thin needles targeted to areas of the face where we loose the structure and support of collagen and elastin. If you are looking to prevent further drooping around the jawline, the forehead, and mouth, this is a great choice. We recommend anywhere from 4 to 12 sessions, 2 per week or 1 per week for 12 weeks. This treatment plan continues to build collagen well after the last treatment, and can be added every 2 years into your self-care maintenance routine.

What is Microneedling? (Includes Light Therapy)

Microneedling is the use of our professional grade micro-pen of hair-thin needles 10-12 on a cartridge, that can be programmed to go to varying depths for best results. Using a specific TCM herbal serum mixture based on YOUR individual needs, this session works in 2 ways, one, is reducing fine lines, wrinkles, and discoloration of skin tone, as well as clearing and shrinking pores and promoting natural collagen and elastin. The second and important action of microneedling is ensuring the highest level of absorption of the TCM serums.

What is the difference between Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture and Microneedling?

Both of these treatments can be great for everyone, but depending on your focus and needs, here are some things to consider and chat about with your AcuBar specialist:

Under 35 we suggest starting with Microneedling because collagen availability is higher at this age and Microneedling can focus more on the development of fine lines on the forehead, around the mouth and the eyes.

If you are over 35 we suggest a combination of BOTH Microneedling and Facial rejuvenation acupuncture with our light therapy and serums. You cannot beat the results of these combined holistic treatments!

How is Nanoneedling different from Microneedling?

Nanoneedling utilizes the same tool as micro, but uses a different needle cartridge. We use nano for dark circles under the eyes, eye puffiness and bags, and it is a great treatment to have on a lunch break or if you are needing a refreshing pick me up! We use our serums specific to your needs for puffiness, fatigue, or just a refreshing polish to your skin.

What are the serums?

The TCM serums we use have been used for centuries for skin care, and for ALL types of skin. Acne, aging, firmness, eye bags, dark circles, fatigue, hyperpigmentation to name a few. Using our professional grade microneedle pen to help your skin absorb these natural and holistic TCM herbal serums. Serums are included in all services except a la carte light therapy and focused self-care acupuncture.

What are "Refresher Treatments?"

Think of easy, affordable, convenient additions to your day as a pick me up! Also great to add to any a la carte service! High payoff with small amounts of your time and money! In addition to nanoneedling (see above description) here are some highlights of our other 2 refresher treatments.

Our TCM Facial using cupping and gua sha improves facial microcirculation, decreases fine lines, jaw pain, eye and face puffiness, and sharpens jaw lines from lymph movement.

Come in for our TCM inspired mask and pair it with any of our a la carte services. Our masks are made specifically for you, whether your goal is to reduce redness, acne, dry skin, puffiness, or just brighten your complexion this is a well spent 30 minutes!
