Microneedling for Scarring

Heal skin texture, naturally

Scars tell your skin’s story, but they don’t have to define it.

At The AcuBar, microneedling for scarring works by gently resurfacing the skin while activating your body’s own collagen response, helping soften the look of acne scars, surgical marks, and uneven texture- without harsh chemicals or downtime.

This is scar healing that’s truly skin-deep.

Why Our Clients Love Microneedling for Scarring

  • Smooths and refines uneven skin texture
  • Reduces the appearance of acne and injury scars
  • Breaks down old scar tissue and supports new collagen
  • Brightens dull or discolored areas
  • Promotes faster, natural healing over time. Many clients see a difference after just a few sessions!

What to Expect

After a gentle cleanse and numbing application, your practitioner performs precise microneedling across areas of scarring to stimulate collagen production and cellular renewal.
Over the next few weeks, skin continues to remodel- revealing a smoother, more even complexion.

For deeper or older scars, a series of sessions may be recommended to achieve the best results.

Microneedling for Scarring FAQ

How does Microneedling help with scars?

When performed correctly, microneedling helps remodel old scar tissue by breaking down dense collagen and encouraging new, organized collagen to form.

This helps soften, smooth, and fade the appearance of:

  • Acne scars (pitted or boxcar scars)
  • Surgical scars
  • Injury or burn scars
  • Stretch marks (technically a form of scarring)

What types of scars respond best?

Microneedling is most effective for:

  • Atrophic scars (depressed scars like acne or chickenpox)
  • Post-inflammatory marks and texture irregularities
  • Stretch marks

Raised (hypertrophic) scars may not respond as well, but can sometimes be improved with a tailored approach and additional modalities.

How many sessions will I need?

Results build gradually with each session.

Most clients need a series of 4-6 treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart

Deep or long-standing scars may benefit from additional sessions or combination therapies (like LED light therapy or nanoneedling).

Does it hurt?

Discomfort is minimal. A topical numbing cream can be applied before treatment to keep you comfortable. Most clients describe it as a light prickling or vibration sensation.

Is there downtime?

There’s mild redness and sensitivity for 24-48 hours, similar to a light sunburn.

Some dryness or flaking may occur as your skin renews.

Makeup and active skincare (like acids or retinol) should be avoided for 24-72 hours.

When will I see results?

You may notice smoother, softer skin within 1-2 weeks, but collagen remodeling continues for several months. Visible improvements in texture and scar depth usually appear after 3-4 sessions and continue to progress over time.

Can microneedling completely remove scars?

Microneedling significantly improves the appearance of scars- reducing depth, color contrast, and texture- but results vary based on scar type, age, and skin health.

Complete erasure isn’t guaranteed, but most clients experience a noticeable, long-term refinement in texture and tone.

Is microneedling safe for all skin types?

Yes! When performed by a trained professional, microneedling is safe for all skin tones and types. Depth, technique, and aftercare are customized to prevent hyperpigmentation and ensure safe healing.

Can I combine microneedling with other treatments?

Absolutely. Combination therapy enhances results:

  • Nanoneedling for pigment and tone
  • LED light therapy for healing and inflammation
  • Herbal serums to accelerate tissue repair

Your practitioner will recommend the best pairing for your skin.

What should I do before treatment?

  • Avoid retinol, exfoliants, and active ingredients for 3–5 days
  • Skip sun exposure or tanning
  • Arrive with clean skin (no makeup or SPF)
  • Stay hydrated and avoid alcohol/caffeine that day

What should I do after treatment?

  • Keep skin clean and hydrated
  • Avoid makeup, sweating, and active skincare for 48–72 hours
  • Use a gentle cleanser and hyaluronic acid serum
  • Always apply SPF 30+ daily to protect new skin
  • Avoid direct sun or harsh products until fully healed

How long does a treatment take?

Each session takes 30-60 minutes, depending on the size of the area and depth of scarring being treated.

Are results permanent?

Microneedling creates long-term remodeling in the skin.

Once collagen rebuilds and scar tissue softens, the results are lasting- though continued maintenance (1-2 sessions per year) supports optimal texture and skin health.

What makes microneedling a better option than lasers or peels?

Microneedling offers similar collagen-stimulating benefits to more aggressive treatments, but with:

  • Minimal downtime
  • Lower risk of hyperpigmentation
  • No heat or chemical damage
  • Natural, gradual improvement rather than an abrupt change

It’s a gentle yet powerful option for scar reduction and skin renewal.

Let your skin’s story renew itself.

Collagen rebuilt. Texture restored. Confidence revived – naturally.
